Come out and support the Bears Track & Field Team, Wednesday March 6th at Johns Creek. Meet begins at 4:00pm.
Here are some highlights from the Feb. 27th meet at South Forsyth..
The Cambridge Track and Field team showed up ready to compete at the team's first meet of the season this past Wednesday at South Forsyth. Fielding a team of more than 60 athletes, the fleet-footed Bears won seven events against two established Forsyth county teams and athletes from Pine Crest Academy.
While placing third as a team, the Bears lit up the track with impressive first place finishes in the Men's 3200m Run (Bjorn Leicher), 100m Dash (Dashun Soto), and 200m Dash (Hawk Hammer). The Cambridge boys showed heart and effort in the 4x100 Relay, earning a second place team finish.
The Lady Bears delivered the first place individual and team win on the field with Ali LoPiccolo's outstanding High Jump, and brought home a second place tie for Cambridge in the Long Jump and a team second place finish in the Discus.
On the track, the ladies blazed to the finish line with first place individual and team wins in the 4x100 Relay (Lauren Stewart, Lacey Wolter, Caroline Gloster, Olivia Sieverts) 4x400m Relay (Jahvona Pretty; Ali LoPiccolo, Angela Ho, Lily Niebur), and 100m Dash (Lacey Wolter).
Ali LoPiccolo's individual win in the Women's 300m Hurdles delivered an overall second place finish for Cambridge, and the team saw silver in the 800m Run and 4x400 Relay.
