Bears JV Lacrosse Win over Duluth 13-0

Bears JV Lacrosse Win over Duluth 13-0

The Cambridge Bears men's JV lacrosse team posted a win Tuesday night March 19th at home, shutting out the Wildcats from Duluth High School 13-0.

Even though the Bears struggled with face offs, they bested the Wildcats nearly everywhere else.   The Cambridge defense, led by Jack Lundstrom, Chase Darnell and Cory Harrison, put the ball back in the CHS offense's sticks giving them opportunities to score.  The CHS offense moved the ball well on their end of the field, switching it up and working for the shot.  And work they had to against a tough Wildcat goalie, led by Michael Pellegrino who had 5 assists and 1 goal.

The first goal came on a Bear man up play, with Chris Anderson feeding Trent Wilson from outside.  Late in the first, Lundstrom had a take away, setting up the assist by Michael Pellegrino to Anderson for the goal.  Zach Lodigensky scored once, while Collin Nicholls connected for two and Brett Manning added another to give Cambridge the 6-0 advantage at the half.

In the 3rd quarter, Brendan Fahey had two assists to Anderson, earning Anderson his first Cambridge hat trick.  Also netting his first hat trick was Nichols, fed by Miles Copeland from behind the cage on man up with 8 minutes left in the game.  Duluth, clearly frustrated by Cambridge, was nailed with numerous penalties at the end, giving up control of the game to the Bears.  And with a great save at the buzzer, goalie Branch Morley and the Bear defense shut out Duluth 13-0.
