Cambridge Softball Teams Sweep North Cobb in Home Openers

Cambridge Varsity vs North Cobb

The Cambridge Lady Bears improved their record to 4-0 Tuesday evening August 13th after a fantastic win in the Season Home Opener against the North Cobb Warriors, with a 3-1 victory. Lead off batter for the Lady Bears, Lauren Stewart, electrified the crowd by taking the 3rd pitch in the bottom of the 1st inning over the left field fence for the first home run of the season.  The bats were again alive for the Bears as Mariah Kubik, Maria Lay, and Lauren Stewart led the team each with an RBI.  The Warriors just could not put any offense together as Keara Napoli only allowed 4 hits, and struck out 6 batters from the mound.  The Varsity Bears will take their 4-0 record to Walton High School on Wednesday, August 21st, at 5:55 p.m.

Cambridge JV vs North Cobb

The Cambridge JV Lady Bears kicked off the 2013 season last evening with a 4-2 victory against the North Cobb Warriors at home Tuesday evening August 13th. Lindsey Smith pitched a 3-hit complete game and knocked in the game's first run.  The Bears scored all four runs in the 2nd inning with RBI's by Lindsay Smith, Bella Reformado, and a two out, two run single by Amelia Milender to provide what proved to be the game's winning run.  The Lady Bears flashed some leather with some good fielding including a seldom seen "8 - 6" force out initiated by Lindsay Berman on a hard liner. Great start to the season JV Lady Bears!  The JV Bears will visit King's Ridge on Thursday, August 15th with the first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
