The Lady Bears Varsity Volleyball team traveled to South Forsyth High School for their season opening matches against a powerhouse #6-ranked AAAAAA South Forsyth team and Mill Creek High.
The young Cambridge team, with six returning players, fell to South Forsyth 11-25 and 16-25.
The Bears took the lead over Mill Creek in the first match, with booming serves from freshmen Regan Swift and sophomore Eileen Hardy, key blocks by freshman Lauren Swift and kills from sophomore Alex Wright. The Bears dropped the lead during the final plays of the game, losing 22-25. The Bears dropped game two, 18-25.
The team heads to the Forsyth Challenge tournament today and Saturday in advance of the season's first HOME GAMES on August 20.
