Cambridge Girls Varsity Tennis Off to Impressive Start

Cambridge Girls Varsity Tennis Off to Impressive Start

The Cambridge Girls Varsity Tennis team took care of business in the opening match against Blessed Trinity, Tuesday, February 10, and brought home the first victory of the season.  The Bears won all 3 singles lines, and the 2 doubles line had an awesome comeback for a win, which helped close out the match, 4-1.

Varsity Head Coach Leigh Popp says beating Blessed Trinity was a great way to kick off the season. "It's the first time we've beaten BT in tennis – they are always very strong.  We have high expectations this year for Varsity Girls Tennis!  We made it to the State Final 4 in 2013 and the State Championship match in 2014.  This year we are hoping to go all the way!  It's really a special group of girls this year - 6 seniors who have been at Cambridge since its opening, 2 juniors, and 2 outstanding freshmen who will start in the lineup.

It was an awesome way to get Cambridge tennis underway.

Congrats Lady Bears!!
