The Girls Varsity Soccer Team clinched a regional playoff spot when they beat Sprayberry on Monday night, April 22nd!
The game was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation play with Natalia Garcia and Tai Anglade making the 2 goals and the assists for each other. Since this was a regional contest , the game cannot end in a tie, so the clock was set for two 5 minute overtime halves. No goals were achieved during this time so they proceeded to Penalty Kicks. The final Penalty kick count was Cambridge 3, Sprayberry 1.
Allie Wynne, Haleigh Carr, and Erika Haak scored the PK's. Awesome offensive plays in this final regular season game for Maddie Burdick, Olivia Hayden, and Casey Moore.
The Lady Bears will play Lakeside-DeKalb in the first round of the region tournament, Tuesday, April 30, at 6:00 p.m. at James R. Hallford Stadium 3789 Memorial College Avenue, Clarkston, GA 30021.
Congratulations to Coach Thon and this impressive inaugural team for earning the first ever region appearance by the CHS Girls Varsity Soccer program!
Go Bears!!
