LOOK OUT GEORGIA - WE ARE HEADED TO STATE!
On May 1-2, the Cambridge Bears competed in the state sectional track and field meet at North Oconee High School. The purpose was to advance the top eight finishers in the individual events and relays to the state meet in Athens on May 11. The weather cooperated both days and the team was poised to perform to the best of their ability.
When the meet concluded, the Bears had advanced a strong contingent of girls and boys to the state meet next Monday. Advancing to the 4A GHSA state meet were the following:
GIRLS
Ella Alberici - 800 meters, 1600 meters and 3200 meters.
Kennedy Williams - 100 meters and 200 meters (personal record).
Karsen Williams - high jump (personal record).
The following relays also advanced for the ladies - 4x800 meters, 4x200 meters, and 4x100 meters.
BOYS
Grant Campbell - high jump and long jump.
Grey Donner - 1600 meters and 3200 meters
Mohamed Bangura - triple jump.
Dakota Holt-Pledger - high jump.
Andrew Bollenbacher - pole vault
The boys 4x200 meter relay also qualified for the state meet.
