Boys Take Home Metro-Championships Runner-Up Plaque

In the last meet of the season, the Bears showed up big with some great time drops, more state qualifying times, and lots to plan for at the state meet! Getting a glimpse of the talent that the Bears will face in a couple of weeks, Metros served as a showcase of some of the best swimmers in the state.  The Bears rounded out their state roster and headed into the last two weeks of the season. Even with the impending storm, the Bears took advantage of the abbreviated meet to show the result of their work over the last four months.

200 Medley Relay

Cambridge opened the meet with strong relay swims.
The boys' A‑relay of Ryzhkov, Naude, Mynatt, and Jackson placed 3rd in 1:41.36 (State Qualifier) with a new season-best time.
The girls' A‑relay—Amber Naude, Alana Drevet, Caroline Garijo, and Charlotte Weeter—finished 2nd in 1:52.97 (State Qualifier) with a new season-best time. 

200 Freestyle

Jax Jackson led the boys with 5th (1:52.72, State Qualifier). Cambridge followed with Tom Berezitsky (10th, 2:01.12) with a new best time and Tate Robertson (11th, 2:06.19) with a new best time.
The girls put up big points: Amber Naude took 2nd in 1:56.11 (State Qualifier) with a new best time; Molly Melchiors claimed 6th in 2:01.75 (State Qualifier) with a new best time; Abby Salvia was 10th, and Maya Berezitsky placed 11th with a new best time. 

200 Individual Medley

Freshman Brighton Damm earned 7th in 2:13.72, with teammates Nash Christiansen and Campen Dawes scoring in 12th and 15th.
In the girls' IM, Charlotte Weeter finished 4th in 2:13.72 (State Qualifier) with a new best time, while Meg Carrizal (7th) and Emily Lewis (14th) added depth.

50 Freestyle

Senior Tayne Naude blasted a 21.48 for 2nd (State Qualifier). Cambridge added more speed with Brian Guy (10th, 23.43, SQ) and Bryson Mynatt (11th, 23.45, SQ).
For the girls, Casey Chingirian placed 10th in 26.40 (State Qualifier) with a new best time, followed by Audrey Lampa (12th, 27.03). 

100 Butterfly

Cambridge dominated the boys' fly behind Tayne Naude's championship swim of 51.53 (1st, State Qualifier) and a new best time AND new school record! Additional finishes included Aneesh Ayyagari (13th) and James Kates (17th) with a new best time.
In the girls' race, Amber Naude seized 2nd in 58.08 (State Qualifier) with a new best time and Vivi Vasconcellos earned 3rd in 1:02.09 (State Qualifier) with a new best time. Audrey Lampa placed 7th.

100 Freestyle

Brian Guy finished 9th (52.69), joined by Mynatt (14th, 53.87) and Robertson (18th, 55.50).
The girls excelled again with Alana Drevet's 8th‑place 58.12 (State Qualifier) with a new best time, followed by Abby Salvia (9th).

500 Freestyle

200 Freestyle Relay

The boys' squad of Naude, Jackson, Guy, and Ryzhkov won the A‑final in 1:30.40 (State Qualifier)—one of the program's top swims of the meet.
The girls' relay—Naude, Garijo, Vasconcellos, Weeter—also took 1st place in 1:40.08 (State Qualifier). 

100 Backstroke

Cambridge boys scored through Aneesh Ayyagari (10th) and Pranav Kolathaya (12th), Nash Christiansen (17th) with a new best time, and Ayaan Gadre (20th) with a new best time.
The girls saw Caroline Garijo finish 3rd in 1:05.06 (State Qualifier) with a new best time, followed by Casey Chingirian (5th) with a new best time and Meg Carrizal (7th) with a new best time. 

100 Breaststroke

Oscar Ryzhkov secured another state cut with 8th place in 1:05.06 (State Qualifier) with a new best time. Ryzhkov is the second Iron Bear named for the 2025-2026 season! Shane Merrill (17th) with a new best time, and Campen Dawes (20th) with a new best time.
The girls' race was headlined by Alana Drevet, who earned 2nd in 1:10.25 (State Qualifier). Vivi Vasconcellos and Mihika Ayyagari added important points. 

400 Freestyle Relay

The boys' relay of Mynatt, Kates, Damm, and Guy placed 3rd in 3:35.58 (State Qualifier).
The girls' A‑team—Drevet, Chingirian, Salvia, Vasconcellos—finished 3rd in 3:53.89 (State Qualifier), closing the meet with another top‑tier performance.
