Cambridge Girls' Swim/Dive Wins Fulton County Championships
The 2026 Fulton County High School Championship concluded with outstanding performances across the county, and the final point standings reflected a highly competitive meet. Cambridge secured the girls' championship and the boys had an outstanding performance and claimed fourth place. Many new athletes were added to the state roster and even more athletes clocked new best times in their events.

200 Medley Relay
Cambridge opened the meet with strong performances in both the boys' and girls' 200 Medley Relays. The boys' A‑relay of Tate Robertson, Tom Berezitsky, Aneesh Ayyagari, and Brian Guy posted a 1:51.82, finishing 9th—just 0.82 off the state cut (1:51.00). The B‑relay of Pranav Kolathaya, Shane Merrill, Brighton Damm, and James Kates went 1:55.48 for 11th.
The girls surged with impressive times—the A‑relay of Casey Chingirian, Alana Drevet, Leila Kader, and Molly Melchiors earned 7th in 2:01.36 (State Qualifier), and the B‑relay (Abby Salvia, Maya Berezitsky, Audrey Lampa, and Alexis Walkenhorst) finished 10th at 2:08.74.
200 Freestyle
In the boys' 200 free, Oscar Ryzhkov led the charge with a blistering 1:43.15 (State Qualifier) for a new best time, placing 2nd overall. Jax Jackson swam a strong 1:58.90, followed by Bryson Mynatt in 10th (2:02.67) with a new best time and Avi Saxena in 18th (2:17.36) with a new best time.
On the girls' side, Charlotte Weeter dominated with a 4th‑place 1:56.59 (State Qualifier). Additional results included Abby Salvia (2:10.36) with a new best time, Maya Berezitsky (2:16.99) with a new best time, and Christine McVicker (2:39.69).
200 IM
The boys were highlighted by Brighton Damm, who clocked 2:11.61 (State Qualifier) for 11th, followed by Nash Christiansen (2:24.34) with a new best time, Shane Merrill (2:30.89) with a new best time, and Pranav Kolathaya (2:34.34).
The girls' IM group was exceptionally deep: Casey Chingirian earned 6th in 2:23.76 (State Qualifier) with a new best time, Alana Drevet took 7th (2:24.34) with a new best time, Leila Kader placed 8th (2:24.50) with a new best time, Meg Carrizal finished 9th (2:29.23) with a new best time, and Alexis Walkenhorst rounded out the group with 10th (2:36.33) with a new best time.
50 Freestyle
Sprint speed was on full display as Tayne Naude blasted a 21.71 (State Qualifier) to earn 2nd place, followed by Brian Guy (23.16, State Qualifier) with a new best time (and first time state qualifier), and James Kates (23.91).
The girls sprinted incredibly well—Amber Naude won the event outright with a 24.26 (State Qualifier), while Caroline Garijo took 3rd in 25.04 (State Qualifier) and Vivi Vasconcellos placed 7th (25.92) with a new best time.
1‑Meter Diving
For the boys, Mylon Sriganesha secured 4th with 139.15 points.
The girls produced two strong scores, with Taylor Eastman placing 3rd (145.20) and Emily Temple earning 4th (120.50).
100 Butterfly
In the boys' race, Oscar Ryzhkov impressed again with a 2nd‑place 51.84 (State Qualifier) with a new best time. Additional swims came from Aneesh Ayyagari (1:02.27) with a new best time, Nash Christiansen (1:09.53), and Campen Dawes (1:13.94).
The girls were led by Vivi Vasconcellos, who finished 8th in 1:03.85 (State Qualifier). Other strong showings included Caroline Garijo (1:04.39, State Qualifier) with a new best time, Audrey Lampa (1:05.21), Sydney Edison (1:17.24) with a new best time, and Christine McVicker (1:27.99).
100 Freestyle
The boys' 100 free saw Brian Guy place 9th (52.37), with James Kates (55.63) with a new best time and Tate Robertson (55.21) with a new best time adding depth.
For the girls, Amber Naude won the event in dominant fashion with a 52.80 (State Qualifier), while Abby Salvia (58.95) with a new best time, Alexis Walkenhorst (1:01.79), and Mihika Ayyagari (1:05.19) with a new best time rounded out the group.
500 Freestyle
Distance was a strong suit for the Cambridge boys. Jax Jackson finished 5th in 5:06.58 (State Qualifier), Brighton Damm took 7th in 5:14.49 (State Qualifier), and Tom Berezitsky swam 5:45.50 for 11th.
For the girls, Charlotte Weeter delivered a standout 3rd‑place 5:12.89 (State Qualifier) with a new best time. Close behind were Molly Melchiors (5:23.41, State Qualifier) with a new best time, Casey Chingirian (5:26.00, State Qualifier) with a new best time, Maya Berezitsky (6:06.30) with a new best time, and Emily Lewis (6:16.37) with a new best time.
200 Freestyle Relay
The boys' A‑relay of Tayne Naude, Bryson Mynatt, Jax Jackson, and Oscar Ryzhkov secured 3rd in 1:29.82 (State Qualifier) with a new season-best time, while the B‑relay (Guy, Christiansen, Merrill, Kolathaya) placed 9th at 1:41.57.
The girls took home the win in the A‑relay—Amber Naude, Caroline Garijo, Charlotte Weeter, and Vivi Vasconcellos combined for a dominant 1:40.52 (State Qualifier) with a new season-best time. The B‑relay (Lampa, Salvia, Kader, Berezitsky) earned 6th in 1:50.93 (State Qualifier).
100 Backstroke
The boys were highlighted by Tayne Naude, who captured the win in 51.16 (State Qualifier) with a new best time —a commanding performance. Additional results included Tate Robertson (1:04.47) with a new best time, Pranav Kolathaya (1:07.48), Campen Dawes (1:11.74) with a new best time, and Aneesh Ayyagari (1:11.48).
On the girls' side, Leila Kader was the top finisher in 1:06.05, just 0.05 off the state cut, with a new best time. She was followed by Meg Carrizal (1:09.16) with a new best time, Emily Lewis (1:13.70) with a new best time, and Ella Fajen (1:20.65).
100 Breaststroke
For the boys, Tom Berezitsky placed 14th (1:11.59) with a new best time, while Shane Merrill was 23rd (1:16.32) with a new best time. On the girls' side, Alana Drevet secured a strong 4th‑place 1:09.55 (State Qualifier) with a new best time, followed by Sydney Edison (1:29.85) and Mihika Ayyagari (1:23.00) with a new best time.
400 Freestyle Relay
The boys' A‑relay of Oscar Ryzhkov, Bryson Mynatt, Jax Jackson, and Tayne Naude clocked a fast 3:23.66 (State Qualifier) for 4th, and the B‑relay (Damm, Robertson, Kates, Berezitsky) finished 11th in 3:42.89 (State Qualifier).
The girls closed the meet with an exceptional showing—the A‑relay (Amber Naude, Charlotte Weeter, Caroline Garijo, Vivi Vasconcellos) placed 2nd in 3:39.38 (State Qualifier), and the B‑relay (Chingirian, Lampa, Drevet, Melchiors) took 7th in 3:57.51 (State Qualifier).
