Cambridge Catches More State Qualifiers in Lambert Quad Meet

After battling it out in Fulton County Championships, the Bears traveled to Cumming to face off against three Forsyth teams in the Lambert Invite. Cambridge fell to South Forsyth on the girls' side, but topped Lambert. On the boys' side, Cambridge fell to Lambert and South Forsyth but topped Pinecrest. After this meet, the Bears only have one meet left before the state championships!

200 Medley Relay

The boys opened with a win as the A‑relay of Oscar Ryzhkov, Tayne Naude, Bryson Mynatt, and Brian Guy touched first in 1:42.27 (1st, State Qualifier), while the B‑relay—Shane Merrill, Aneesh Ayyagari, Nash Christiansen, and Campen Dawes—finished 2:02.23 (9th). The girls' relays were highlighted by a runner‑up finish from the A‑relay of Amber Naude, Alana Drevet, Vivi Vasconcellos, and Caroline Garijo in 1:54.88 (2nd, State Qualifier); the B‑relay (Alexis Walkenhorst, Mihika Ayyagari, Sydney Edison, Maya Berezitsky) went 2:15.11 (7th), and the C‑relay (Ella Fajen, Amy Watkins, Shloka Nagappan, Emily Lewis) recorded 2:27.09 (11th). 

200 Freestyle

For the boys, Brighton Damm led with 1:55.96 (4th) with a new best time, followed by James Kates (2:07.48, 8th) with a new best time, Shane Merrill (2:11.29, 10th) with a new best time, Nash Christiansen (2:11.40, 11th), and Ayaan Gadre (2:20.03, 12th) with a new best time. On the girls' side, Charlotte Weeter won in 1:57.27 (1st, State Qualifier), with Abby Salvia (2:08.58, 5th) and Caroline Garijo (2:15.06, 8th). 

200 IM

Boys' results featured Tate Robertson (2:24.69, 6th) with a new best time, Brian Guy (2:29.77, 7th) with a new best time, and Aneesh Ayyagari (2:30.74, 8th) with a new best time. The girls delivered a deep slate: Amber Naude (2:22.68, 2nd, State Qualifier), Leila Kader (2:30.69, 3rd) with a new best time, Alexis Walkenhorst (2:38.62, 4th), Emily Lewis (2:48.90, 5th), Emily Edison (2:50.44, 6th).

50 Freestyle

In the boys' sprint, Oscar Ryzhkov placed 3rd (23.11, State Qualifier), with Tom Berezitsky (25.37, 14th) with a new best time, Campen Dawes (27.57, 26th), and Ayaan Gadre (31.29, exhibition/X). The girls logged Maya Berezitsky (28.07, 6th), Audrey Lampa (28.49, 10th), Shloka Nagappan (32.73, 43rd), and Amy Watkins (33.29, 48th).

1‑Meter Diving

No boys' 1‑meter diving results were recorded for the team in this meet. On the girls' board, Taylor Eastman posted 181.10 points (5th). 

100 Butterfly

The boys' fly was headlined by Tayne Naude, who won in 52.47 (1st, State Qualifier); additional swims came from Tate Robertson (1:11.02, 8th), Shane Merrill (1:11.12, 9th) with a new best time, and Henry Sommet (DQ). For the girls, Abby Salvia finished 6th (1:12.79) and Sydney Edison placed 8th (1:19.12).

100 Freestyle

The boys were paced by Brighton Damm (54.05, 6th) and Avi Saxena (58.29, 10th) with a new best time. The girls delivered a win from Charlotte Weeter (54.08, 1st, State Qualifier) and depth with Casey Chingirian (57.55, 4th, State Qualifier) with a new best time, Vivi Vasconcellos (59.70, 6th), Leila Kader (1:00.18, 7th), Alana Drevet (1:00.46, 9th), Alexis Walkenhorst (1:02.75, 12th), Emily Lewis (1:07.93, 16th), Ella Fajen (1:11.59, 23rd) with a new best time, Christine McVicker (1:11.99, 25th), and Amy Watkins (1:13.47, 29th) with a new best time.

500 Freestyle

Distance points came from the boys via Tom Berezitsky (5:44.12, 6th) with a new best time, Campen Dawes (6:25.81, 10th) with a new best time, and Henry Sommet (7:19.94, 11th). The girls were led by Vivi Vasconcellos (5:48.31, 2nd, State Qualifier), supported by Caroline Garijo (6:08.62, 6th) with a new best time, Emily Edison (6:37.65, 8th), and Mihika Ayyagari (6:43.21, 9th). 

200 Freestyle Relay

The boys' relays were outstanding: the A‑relay—Brian Guy, Bryson Mynatt, Oscar Ryzhkov, Tayne Naude—won in 1:30.23 (1st, State Qualifier); the B‑relay (Brighton Damm, James Kates, Tate Robertson, Tom Berezitsky) went 1:40.09 (5th); and the C‑relay (Avi Saxena, Campen Dawes, Henry Sommet, Ayaan Gadre) clocked 1:52.40 (12th). The girls' A‑relay—Charlotte Weeter, Vivi Vasconcellos, Casey Chingirian, Audrey Lampa—finished 2nd (1:46.29, State Qualifier), the B‑relay (Leila Kader, Abby Salvia, Maya Berezitsky, Alexis Walkenhorst) placed 4th (1:52.76, State Qualifier), and the C‑relay (Sydney Edison, Emily Edison, Mihika Ayyagari, Christine McVicker) took 10th (2:01.72). 

100 Backstroke

For the boys, results included Brian Guy (1:05.74, 9th) with a new best time, James Kates (1:09.96, 13th) with a new best time, Avi Saxena (1:13.76, 15th) with a new best time, and Aaryan Dubey (1:23.97, 19th). The girls were led by Casey Chingirian (1:07.89, 2nd) with a new best time, and additional swims from Alana Drevet (1:11.33, 5th) with a new best time, Audrey Lampa (1:14.91, 11th), Maya Berezitsky (1:15.26, 12th), Mihika Ayyagari (1:18.90, 16th) with a new best time, Sydney Edison (1:19.47, 17th), Ella Fajen (1:20.19, 18th), and Christine McVicker (1:26.19, 20th) with a new best time. 

100 Breaststroke

A dominant boys' win came from Tayne Naude (1:01.38, 1st, State Qualifier), which earned him the honor of Iron Bear (achieving state qualifying times in every individual event) - Naude is the only Iron Bear thus far this season; he was joined by Oscar Ryzhkov (1:07.76, 7th), Nash Christiansen (1:14.27, 13th), Aneesh Ayyagari (1:17.73, 18th), and Ayaan Gadre (1:21.46, 19th). The girls were headlined by Amber Naude, who placed 2nd in 1:14.24 (State Qualifier) with a new best time. 

400 Freestyle Relay

The boys' A‑relay—Brighton Damm, Tate Robertson, James Kates, Tom Berezitsky—took 2nd in 3:44.20, while the B‑relay (Nash Christiansen, Aneesh Ayyagari, Avi Saxena, Shane Merrill) finished 5th (4:04.72). The B‑relay (Leila Kader, Abby Salvia, Alana Drevet, Audrey Lampa) in 3rd (4:12.38) and the C‑relay (Emily Edison, Ella Fajen, Christine McVicker, Emily Lewis) in 6th (4:50.49).
