Varsity Girls Softball Defeat North Atlanta, Buford, and Northview

Cambridge vs. North Atlanta - 10-0 Win (Tuesday, August 23rd)

Top of 1 Pitcher, Keara Napoli strikes out three in a row to get the game started. Bottom of 1 Jensen Cheshire hits a line drive and Taylor Greene gets on base by a fielder's error but the Warriors close out the inning with no runs scored. Top of 2 another three up three down for Napoli and bottom of 2 Bears get the bats going with a single for Keara Napoli and Courtney Campbell lays down a sacrifice bunt to move Keara. Lindsey Smith reaches base on an error and Keara Napoli scores. Abigail Wilson walks and Mariah Kubik with a single and a walk for Jensen Cheshire with Becca Cleypool gets a fielders choice. Taylor Greene hits a double bringing in Mariah and Becca. Bears up 5-0. Bottom of 3 Lindsey Smith with a double Abigail Wilson and Jensen Cheshire each hitting a single and a couple of errors Bears score 3 more runs leading 8-0. Coming in to pitch Genevieve Dumas strikes out two and a ground out to the pitcher Bears continue wit a 8-0 lead. Bottom of 4 singles by Lindsey Smith and Heather Kipniss and a double by Courtney Campbell the Bears take a 10-0 lead and Genevieve closes it out ending with a run rule for the Bears!

Cambridge vs. Buford - 1-0 Win (Wednesday, August 24th)

On 8/24 the Bears took on the Buford State champions at home. In the first inning Napoli giving up two hits with runners on makes a double play with Courtney Campbell to end the inning. Nothing going for the Bears on offense in bottom of 1 and 2. In the bottom of 2 Courtney Campbell hits a double and bottom of 3 Mariah Kubik hits a singe and Jensen Cheshire lays down the sacrifice bunt but the Bears leave runners stranded and still no score. Bottom of 4 Keara Napoli and Heather Kipniss hit singles and by an error on the pitcher Napoli steals third and Courtney Campbell with a fielder's choice brings in Napoli to score. Bears lead 1-0. With solid pitching and defense the Bears hang on to the win 1-0. Bears remain undefeated!

Cambridge vs. Northview - 9-3 Win (Tuesday, August 30th)

Top of 1 Bears pitcher Genevieve Dumas with two strikeouts and a defensive play by Taylor Greene the Bears head to the bottom of 1. Bears get the bats going right away with a couple of walks and a singles by Jensen Cheshire, Heather Kipniss, Daisy Valeo Abigail Wilson and a doubles by Lindsey Smith and Jensen Cheshire the Bears up 9-0. Pitcher Dumas with two more strikeouts and solid defensive plays made by Jensen Cheshire, Courtney Campbell and Taylor Greene score remains 9-0. The top of 4 the Titans answer back with two singles and score on a wild pitch Bears still up 9-2. Bears Anna Allen gets a double but gets stranded and the Titans get two singles and a run scored on an error in the top of the 7th. The game ends with a final score of 9-3, Bears.

The Bears will travel to take on the Alpharetta Raiders on Thursday September 1st. Game time is 5:55pm.
