The Cambridge JV Fastpitch team continued their winning streak, winning their last 11 games and have a record of 13-1 overall with a 8-0 record for Region games.
Cambridge-9 North Atlanta-0 Thursday, Sept. 24th
An eight-run explosion in the third inning spurred the Cambridge Bears JV to a 9-0 win in four innings over North Atlanta at CHS on Thursday, Sept. 24th.
The Bears scored in the first inning after a double by Abigail McLain and scored again in the third on a two-run single by Taylor Allmen, an RBI double by Lauren Thomas, and RBI singles by Audrey Smith and Daisy Valeo.
Luci Allen and Daisy Valeo went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Bears. North Atlanta couldn't get anything going as long as Allmen was pitching. North Atlanta managed just one hit off of Allmen, who allowed no earned runs and struck out eight during her four innings of work.
Cambridge-9 Alpharetta-1 Wednesday, Sept. 23rd
The Cambridge Bears JV jumped out to an early lead on Alpharetta and captured an 11-1 victory, Wednesday, Sept. 23rd.
Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Bears to put the game away early. Alpharetta couldn't get anything going so long as Anna Allen was on the hill. Allen held Alpharetta hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, and struck out five.
An RBI double by Taylor Allmen in the first inning and singles by Daisy Valeo and Haley Brown supplied the early offense for the Bears.
The Bears continued to dominate as they posted four runs in the third and four runs in the fourth inning with a doubles by Taylor Allmen, Lauren Vetrano, and Lauren Thomas, along with singles by Audrey Smith and Luci Allen.
Cambridge-5 Creekview-1 Wednesday, Sept. 16th
The Lady Bears JV traveled to Creekview Wednesday September 16th and both the Bears and Creekview put runners aboard often...but it was the Bears that were able to take advantage of the opportunties, pulling out a 5-1 win.
Although Creekview got 14 hits, compared with just nine for the Bears, Creekview stranded 13 on base due to the Bears' strong defense.
The first inning saw Creekview score its only run on the day on a sacrifice fly. The Bears tied the game in the second on an RBI single by Daisy Valeo (who went 3-3 at the plate) that scored Lauren Thomas.
The Bears never trailed after scoring one run in the fourth. Lauren Thomas reached base three times in the game. At the plate Taylor Allmen and Luci Allen racked up 2 hits and Alex Seymour got one hit.
Genevieve Dumas got it done in the circle allowing only one run on 14 hits.
