Cambridge- 10, Kell-1 Tuesday, Sept. 8th
So, after 54 innings of softball the Lady Bears gave up their first run of the season to Kell. The unearned run scored in the first inning of play after two errors.
The Bears answered back quickly in the bottom of the 1st with hits from Lily Valeo and Courtney Campbell as the Bears tied it up at 1-1.
Kell attempted a bunt in the top of the 2nd inning, but a great defensive play was made by Heather Kipniss to Courtney Campbell.
Pitcher Keara Napoli struck out two batters in the 2nd inning for a quick three up, three down. After walks and hits from Taylor Greene, Becca Cleypool and Mariah Kubik, the Bears answered back quickly to make the score 6-1.
A strike out, a caught stealing, and a defensive play by Jensen Cheshire held the Kell offense scoreless in the 3rd inning. The Bears offense struck again with another 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning on hits by Mariah Kubik, Lily Valeo, and Courtney Campbell.
The Bears won by a run rule with a final score of 10-1.
The Lady Bears are scheduled to play at home and honor their three Seniors on Tuesday, Sept. 15th playing against Riverwood. The Bears will then travel to Sprayberry on Sept. 17th.
