Cambridge Varsity Softball Shuts Out Riverwood and North Atlanta

Cambridge-11  North Atlanta-0  Tuesday, Sept. 1 

With walks and a hit by Mariah Kubik, the Bears got on the board in the top of the 1st inning with a score of 1-0.  

Pitcher Keara Napoli had three strikeouts in the first inning and the Bears hung on to that score until the top of the fifth inning. With hits from Jensen Cheshire, Courtney Campbell, and a double from Abigail Wilson, the Bears brought the score to 3-0.  

The Bears bats were hot in the top of the 6th inning with hits from Abigail Wilson, Mariah Kubik, Keara Napoli, Courtney Campbell, Lindsey Smith, and Heather Kipniss as the Bears increased their lead to 11-0.  

Keara Napoli had 12 strikeouts going into the 6th inning.  Genevieve Dumas came in to close it out for the Bears allowing no hits for a Combined No-Hitter.

 

Cambridge-17  Riverwood-0  Monday, August 31

With hits from Abigail Wilson, Mariah Kubik, Heather Kipniss, a triple from Lily Valeo, walks for Keara Napoli, Becca Cleypool and Lindsey Smith and a Homerun for Jensen Cheshire, the Bears put 9 runs on the board in the first inning.  

Keara Napoli pitched the first inning allowing no runs. Genieveve Dumas came in to pitch the remainder of the game. Taking over at catcher was Haley Brown.

Genieveve Dumas did a great job on the mound with 4 strikeouts while giving up no hits.

With a few more hits from Lily Valeo, Anna Allen, and Haley Brown in addition to several walks, the Bears run-ruled Riverwood by a final score of 17-0.
