Bears-2, Sprayberry-0   Tuesday August 25

After having all three games canceled last week due to rainy weather the Bears got back out on the field Tuesday night, August 25th taking on the Sprayberry Jackets.

The Jackets started the game with a bunt and a hit but with plays made by Lindsey Smith and Lily Valeo to first baseman Courtney Campbell, a quick two outs were made. Pitcher Keara Napoli gave up a hit and walked the next batter but finished strong and closed out the inning with a strikeout.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third inning.  Jensen Cheshire singled and then Lily Valeo singled to bring Jensen home with the first run of the game. Courtney Campbell reached safely an error made by the centerfielder, scoring Valeo and putting the Bears up 2-0. 

Starting pitcher Keara Napoli struck out 9 Jackets hitters. Helped by solid defense from Lindsey Smith, Jensen Cheshire, Lily Valeo, Courtney Campbell, and Taylor Greene, the game finished with a 2-0 win for the Bears! 

Bears-2, Roswell-0   Wednesday August 26

The Bears hosted Roswell on Wednesday, August 26th. The Bears started shaky in the top of 1st inning, as the Hornets opened with a bunt single, an error, a wild pitch, and a walk. With the bases loaded with only 1 out, an awesome throw down to 2nd base made by catcher Taylor "Taco" Greene to Jensen Cheshire caught the runner off guard for the 2nd out.  The final out was made by pitcher Keara Napoli to first baseman, Courtney Campbell to end the inning.  

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the 4th inning. Courtney Campbell started the inning with a double, and Keara Napoli singled, driving in Campbell.  Mariah Kubik then tripled down the third base line scoring Napoli, making the score 2-0.

Keara Napoli pitched brilliantly and the once again unstoppable defense shuts down the Hornets as the Bears hang on for the win!
