The Varsity Cambridge Lady Bears softball team wrapped up its fast-pitch season with a 6-0 victory against a very good South Forsyth team Wednesday, October 1st. This team looks ready for regional tournament play which begins on Monday, October 6th, at home at 7:00 p.m.

The Bears played a total of 19 games with a 17-2 record overall and a 12-0 record in region play.  They had a total of 178 runs and allowed only 17 runs by their opponents.  The Bears had 14 shutouts total during the season. 

Coach Chip Flemmer says it was an incredible season by a very solid team on both sides of the ball.  "Cambridge is only in its third season since opening the school in 2012, and the softball program is getting better every year.  The current team is made up of  4 seniors, 3 juniors, 5 sophomores, and two freshman, so we still have a fairly young team with a big future ahead."

"It is rare to find a team where all the players genuinely care so much for each other and want to see each other succeed," Flemmer says.  He also added, "We stress to respect all, but fear none.   This is the approach that we have taken all season and will continue to take.  We would love to see a great crowd on Monday to help cheer on the Bears.  We really appreciate all the support we have gotten this year."

This team is looking to play hard at regionals and earn its spot at the state tournament in Columbus, GA at the end of the month.
