Lady Bears Fastpitch Sweep 3 More Regular Season Games; Move on to Regionals

North Springs          Tues. Sept. 23   

The Lady Bears got things started quickly in the 1st inning scoring 12 runs with hits from Lauren Stewart, Taylor Greene, Lily Valeo, Keara Napoli, Courtney Campbell, Diggy Dixon, and Becca Cleypool.  

Keara Napoli struck out the first three batters.  At the top of the 2nd inning, the Bears scored another 4 runs with hits from Lindsey "Z" Smith, Emily Fedrigon, Heather Kipniss, Keara Napoli.  A beautiful home run by Courtney Campbell made the score, 16-0.

North Springs just couldn't get any offense going in the 2nd or 3rd inning, ending the game in a run-rule by the Bears.  This is another region win for Cambridge! 

Kennesaw Mountain   Wed. Sept. 24

The Bears took to the road to play Kennesaw Mountain on Wednesday Sept. 24th.  

With hits from Keara Napoli and Courtney Campbell in the 2nd inning, the Bears got on the board with 2 runs.  With solid pitching and defense the Bears held Kennesaw Mountain to zero runs and only gave up one hit.  

The Bears continued to get on base with hits from Lauren Stewart, Courtney Campbell, Abigail Wilson, Lily Valeo, Keara Napoli, Mariah Kubik, and Jensen Cheshire, scoring another five runs going into the 6th inning. The final score of 7-0 brings the Bears another shutout win. 

 

North Atlanta           Thurs. Sept. 25 

The Bears would close out the week with another shut out performance against North Atlanta. 

The team contributed with solid hits, including two awesome home runs for Taylor Greene in the 1st and 2nd inning, followed by additional hits from Lauren Stewart, Lily Valeo, Abigail Wilson, Becca Cleypool, Taylor Hauber, Diggy Dixon, Lindsey "Z" Smith, Bela Bravo, Heather Kipniss, and Jensen Cheshire.  13 runs were scored. 

Pitcher Keara Napoli struck out 9 out of 11 batters in the first three innings and Anna Allen finished the game on the mound. Solid pitching and defense allowed no hits, and the Bears win another run rule game, 13-0.

The Lady Bears have a regular season record of 16-2 record, are undefeated (12-0) in the 7AAAAA Region, and the team has finished first in the region. 

Because of their first place finish, they will have a bye the first round of the region tournament.  The Bears' first region game will be at home on Monday, October 6 at 7 p.m.
