Cambridge vs. Sprayberry
The Sprayberry Yellow Jackets came into the Bear Den on Tuesday, September 17th, hoping to put another blemish onto the Lady Bear's record, but it was not to happen.
In a very hard fought battle, the Lady Bears sent the Yellow Jackets back to their hives in defeat, 4-0. The Bears' bats were led by Lily Valeo, who drilled 2 deep shots to the left field fence, each for doubles. The second one scoring an RBI, and after Keara Napoli's line drive thru 3rd base, the Bears took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd. The Yellow Jackets kept things interesting with a deep shot to right center for a double, but the Bears' defense stiffened to keep them scoreless.
Savannah Dixon showed some strong defense in the 5th by fielding a bunt on the fly and quickly going to the 1st baseman for a double play. Mariah Kubik would score on a hit by Lauren Stewart in the 6th after being moved around the bases, and that would be all of the scoring for the day.
Cambridge vs. Sequoyah
The Cambridge Lady Bears took over second place in the region Thursday night, September 19th, with a 3-1 victory over the Sequoyah Lady Chiefs.
