The Fastpitch Lady Bears played a tough tournament this weekend at Kell High School in Marietta and scored a huge victory in the history of Cambridge High School. They beat the Wheeler High School Wildcats, 11-6, Saturday, August 11th, marking the first official varsity athletic win for any sport at CHS.
There were several firsts for this impressive team:
--Amanda Chernick threw the first pitch
--Maddie Edwards made the first hit
--Lauren Stewart scored the first run
--Lily Valeo had the first RBI
--Lindsey Smith was credited with the first win
The Lady Bears (1-3) will be in Etowah Tuesday, but they will play at home Wednesday, August 15th, making that the first official home athletic event at the high school. Come out and support the Lady Bears. They play at 5:30 p.m. against Fellowship Christian School. The first region game will be at home, Thursday, against Forsyth Central at 5:55 p.m.
