Boys Varsity Tennis Drop 2 Non-Region Matches

Cambridge Boys varsity tennis team dropped two very tough matches against Johns Creek (5-0) and Titans from Northview (5-0) on Tuesday, March 31st and Thursday, April 2nd.

Against Northview, Carson Harrell (1S) played well coming up just short in the first (5-7) and then dropping the 2nd in a matched once again featured long rallies from the baseline. 

Joey Ladaga (2S) fell to a very skilled opponent (1 & 1) while setting a very impressive record of 5 breaking racket strings in the course of 1 week. 

Drew Fruehauf also came up short in his match with a matching score of (1,1).

At the doubles lines, Seniors  David Ashcom and Brenner Lapid (1S) were on serve in the first set  before going on to lose 4 and  2.  The match featured many impressive overheads and a couple of dingers over the fence. 

Finally, at the 2 dubs line, Senior Grant Hollingsworth and Jason Weiner had some great volleys but could not pull out a victory losing 3 & 2.

Post match, the 3 Seniors on the team were acknowledged  by the Coach and parents for their play, commitment and contributions to the program over the last 3 years. 

Trish Ladaga helped with the celebration by creating a special Senior Day two-layer, two-flavor cake masterpiece that was enjoyed by players and parents alike.

 

Next up for the Bears tennis team is a well-deserved break to re-charge before the region playoffs begin the week of April 13.
