Bears Varsity Boys Tennis Take 7th Place at DecoTurf Tournament

The Cambridge Bears Boys Tennis team fought hard to gain a 7th place finish out of 14 teams in the Deco Turf B Div Tennis Championships March 26-27 in Chattanooga, TN .

Teams came from all over the country (California, Missouri, Okla., Fla , TN & Ga) to participate in this weekend event.

The Bears started strong out of the gate with a 5-4 win over Carrolton HS.  A dramatic come from behind victory at the 3 doubles line from Jason Weiner and Grant Hollingsworth sealed the deal.

Next up for the Bears was Starr's Mill and, by 11:30pm that evening, the Bears had dropped their first match of the tournament 1-8.

In a quick turn around the next morning, the Bears came out flat against a talented Tennessee High School team with the sole singles  win going to Ryan Edmiston

The last match was Saturday afternoon against Woodward Academy and the winner would place 7th overall.  The 6 singles lines split 3-3 leaving the doubles lines of David Ashcom and Brenner Lapid and Grant Hollingsworth and Jason Weiner to bring home a 5-4 victory against Coach Feldman's High School Alma Mater..

Congratulations to Coach Feldman and the Boys Varsity Tennis team for their performance in Chattanooga.

Next up for the Bears is Chattahoochee at home, Monday, March 30th.

Go Bears!
