The 2016 Varsity Boy's Golf team began the season on Saturday, February 20th in Tifton, Georgia representing Team North in the Spring Hill Ryder Cup.
The format featured 6 teams from the North (Cambridge, Gainesville, Marist, Harrison, Lovett, Mill Creek) against 6 teams from the South (Tift, Columbus, Brookstone, Pierce, Colquitt, Glynn Academy) playing best ball format match play. Team North defeated team South by a score of 16 – 8.
Each team had eight (8) players competing. Cambridge was paired with Lovett and played against players from Tift County and Brookstone.
Match winners from Cambridge earning 1 point for Team North were; Senior Robert Berman, Junior Robbie Bentley, Sophomore Andrew Ackerman and Freshman Jack Vajda. Matches tied earning a ½ point were Senior Austin Redick and Freshman Mark Long.
The team next plays in the Taylor-Made Invitational March 10 & 11 in Waynesboro, GA. Cambridge is the defending team champion.
