The Cambridge Boys and Girls Golf Program hosted a very successful golf program fundraiser on Tuesday December 3rd at Atlanta National Golf Club.
The event featured each of the golf team player athletes securing three sponsors to play in a foursome with them in the event.
Sixty-two sponsor players joined the 20 student athletes and coaches in a scramble format. The Thomas Pettigrew team (Glen Pettigrew, Raj Prabhu, Jeff Ciupak) shot 56 and won in a playoff against the Sabrina Long team (Chris McAllister, Greg Walker, Ed Bowen) who also shot 56 in the challenging soggy conditions.
Sponsors and parents really came together to support their kids and the golf program by donating many great prizes for the winners and a post round raffle.
Special thanks goes out to Mr. Steve Leslie of Roasters Alpharetta for donating boxed lunches for the entire outing and parent John Plaziak for securing some tour level Ping equipment for our first place prizes.
Everyone commented on how well the outing was organized and how much fun was had on the truly challenging Atlanta National layout.
Coach Vajda and all the participants look forward to next year's outing and a successful 2014 golf campaign from the Bears on the links.
