Cambridge Cross Country Boys Finish 2nd; Girls Finish 4th in Region Meet

Varsity Boys Take 2nd, Girls Finish 4th at Region Meet; Both Heading to State

In a park mainly known for its zoo, over 100 Cambridge Bear runners were uncaged and unleashed onto the rolling hills of Grant Park where they would fight and claw their way in a Region considered one of the toughest in all of AAAAAA XC.

Troyce Grant and Clarissa Beck rose up in the Varsity Girls race breaking into the Top 10 and pacing the girls past favored Pope into 4th place overall and a slot at the State Meet. 

The Varsity Boys were led by Seniors Zach Morgan and KJ Hirschi who bolted their way to 3rd and 7th place finishes respectively, earning Cambridge a 2nd place trophy and assuring them a trip to State. 

Freshman Anders Law separated from the pack early and sprinted to a 2nd place individual medal in the JV Boys race leading the team to 2nd place overall, with Bobby VanBrackle, Carson Ertwine, and Josh Gargan landing in the Top 10.

Freshman Leah Capomaccio continued an impressive season blazing a path to a 4th place medal in the JV Girls race.  In the Open race Liz Willis, Kai Abiola and Mary Kate Bohr sped their way to Top 10 finishes.

Up next for the Cross Country team is a trip to Carrolton to compete at the State XC Meet Saturday, Nov 5th!
