The Bears took their game on the road again Monday, March 18th when they competed in the Big Red Shootout at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville.
The format was a modified Stableford System which awarded 12 points for a Double Eagle or Ace; 8 points for an Eagle; 4 points for a Birdie; 2 points for a Par and 1 point for a Bogey.
Each of the 16 teams fielded five players and the top four scores were counted. Cambridge produced an impressive score of 135 which was good enough for second place. South Forsyth was the tournament champion with a score of 140.
The runner-up Bears were paced by senior Blake Farbman's 36-point effort. Farbman recorded three birdies and 10 pars. Senior Ryan Demit (one birdie and 14 pars), junior Coleman Leathers (four birdies and seven pars) and sophomore Jake Peacock (two birdies and nine pars) scored 33 points apiece. Senior Hogan Losch produced a round of 28 points (two birdies and eight pars).
